WICHITA, Kansas -- Police have arrested four men in connection with a murder in northeast Wichita Wednesday night.
Shawn F. Rhone, 42, was shot in his car in the 1700 block of Northeast Parkway early Wednesday evening.
During the investigation, police say they learned that Rhone had received calls from the suspects about a drug transaction.
Police say Rhone went to Northeast Parkway to deliver drugs, possibly marijuana, but the drug transaction did not go as planned.
"We believe the suspects attempted to rob Mr. Rhone," said Lt. Todd Ojile, Wichita Police Department. "Mr. Rhone then tried to flee in his vehicle and that's when the shots were fired into his vehicle."
Rhone was hit twice. He managed to drive a couple of blocks to a Quik Trip at 13th and Oliver to get help. He died later that night.
Thursday morning, police arrested three suspects in the 1400 block of North Glendale. A fourth man turned himself in Thursday afternoon.
The four suspects range in age from 19 to 21. Three of them are brothers.
Police booked them into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
The suspects did not live in the 1700 block of Northeast Parkway. The location of the shooting was in front of a vacant house.
