WICHITA, Kansas -- Hundreds of runners hustled through downtown and riverside Sunday for the Prairie Fire Marathon.
It started at Century II and took runners through 26 miles of the city streets.
This year's male and female first place finishers were Mario Macias and Megan Zavorka.
The event also offered a half marathon event as well a 5K fun run.
A special guest running in Sunday's marathon was Skyler Steinman.
Steinman traveled from Kentucky to Kansas for the run trying to be an inspiration to others.
He says marathons are a lot like life.
"And all throughout the course you just keep pushing, and pushing and pushing to get through it and that is how I equated a marathon to my own life which was persevering through the difficulty to reach that finish line," said Skyler Steinman.
Sunday's run was Skyler's 30th marathon. His goal is to run 57.
