WICHITA, Kansas -- The news that Hostess was closing its doors has prompted some to start hoarding bread and other items.
There are 570 outlet stores across the country that will soon close their doors.
Customers heard the Hostess news Friday morning and went to the store to stock up on some of the treats before the shelves are bare.
"I made a special trip to the Hostess place because they're going out of business, and I wanted Hostess Twinkies, Suzy Q's and Ding Dongs and all the things that my children grew up with so that my grandchildren can have that experience also," said Norma Juhnke, Topeka shopper.
"They have things that I can't get anywhere else. Plus, they are about 25-30 percent lower on the prices on the things I usually buy," said Dennis Burge, Wichita shopper.
KSN checked with Dillons in Wichita and Hostess products are flying off the shelves at their stores. They could be out of the items by day end.
