WICHITA, Kansas -- A Cowley County man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison on child pornography charges.
Curtis J. Schooley, 24, of Burden pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. In his plea, he admitted to using a peer-to-peer program to share files of child pornography under the name of "joshsmith".
In June 2011, an agent with an FBI task force in Connecticut downloaded several images of child pornography from "joshsmith", including images of an adult male engaged in a sex act with a prepubescent girl.
Investigators identified Schooley as "joshsmith" and served a search warrant at his home in Burden.
Additional child pornography was found during the search.
