WICHITA, Kansas -- A Saturday morning shooting outside of an Old Town bar left one person dead and three others in the hospital.
The shooting happened outside outside of Doc Howard's in Old Town just after 2 a.m. Saturday.
Police say nearly 2,000 people were leaving the bar when a fight broke out and a man with a handgun started shooting.
The gunfire hit four people, killing one of them.
Officers in the area responded and went after the shooter.
"Officers that were here clearing out the crowd found an individual with a handgun and they pursued after him, were able to catch up with him at that point. At this point the officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect. He was shot," said Wichita Police Department Lieutenant, Scott Heimerman.
The suspect was critically injured and taken to Via Christi St. Francis hospital along with the other victims.
Police are not releasing any names and say they will have more details Monday.
