TOPEKA, Kansas -- An organization promoting peace is protesting Westboro Baptist Church in a colorful way.

The house called the "Planting Peace Equality House" aims to spread equality and peace throughout the world.

Members of the group bought the home to live in temporarily and are painting it like a rainbow, the colors of the gay pride flag, symbolizing equality, peace and positive change.

Organizers say the goal is to take a stance against a group they say is hateful.

"The importance is to speak out. If it's in support of someone who's different, it's about embracing diversity, and just if someone's being bullied or something, do something, don't just stand by, and so this is our way of doing something," said Davis Hammet, Director of Operations.

A spokesman for the Westboro Baptist Church says this doesn't change anything they do or say and only shines a brighter spotlight on their message.
