Police: Copper thieves caught red-handed

WICHITA, Kansas -- Wichita police arrested two men for stealing copper and other items from a business.

It happened early Sunday morning in the 2200 block of South West Street at Cook's Heating and Cooling.

Officers arrived on the scene and saw a truck and trailer leaving the area.

They chased the truck which eventually stopped.

The two men ran and hid inside a drainage tunnel.

Officers surrounded the tunnel and waited for the men to surrender.

They eventually gave up and were arrested on charges of burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property.
