MULVANE, Kansas -- Police are investigating a bank robbery in Mulvane.

The robbery happened around 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carson Bank, 122 W. Main.

Police say a man in his 50's walked into the bank, said he needed some cash, and handed a note to the teller.

The suspect is described as five feet seven inches tall and is approximately 145 pounds.

He was wearing an orange vest, heavy shirt and a knit hat.

Police say the man was driving an 80's model red and white Chevy S10 extended cab.

Officials say he may be responsible for a bank robbery in Haysville back in November.

The last bank robbery in Mulvane happened 18 years ago.

The robbery prompted Mulvane schools to go into lockdown for more than an hour.
