The eastbound segment will remain at 45 mph.
Meanwhile, the eastbound lanes from Greenwich to Zelta will change from 55 mph to 45 mph.
Public Works staff will seek Wichita City Council approval on May 15 to revise the ordinance to match the speed limits.
In the meantime, the city's traffic engineer has approved a temporary speed limit change that has made the speed limits in the affected area 55 mph westbound and 45 mph eastbound.
Traffic data was analyzed to determine appropriate speeds for that section of Kellogg.
