KANSAS CITY, Kansas -- Two teens were killed when the SUV they were in crashed after a police chase early Sunday morning.
Roeland Park Police tried to stop the vehicle after it was being driven suspiciously.
The driver took off and lost control near an entrance to Interstate 35 and crashed into a pillar under the highway.
A total of seven people were thrown from the Ford Explorer, which caught fire and burned.
18-year-old Karla Robledo and 18-year-old Alexis Medina died at the scene. Police believe Medina was driving the vehicle.
The five other occupants, age 15 to 19, were taken to a local hospital.
