WICHITA, Kansas. -- Marking the end of Fire Prevention week the fire departments of Kansas are holding their 11th Annual Kansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service on Saturday.
Each year firefighters and citizens from all over Kansas gather to honor the memories of those firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty for their community.
The service will include the presentation of colors by Honor Guard from across the state, a presentation of a wreath by Fire Chiefs, and the names of the firefighters who died in the line of duty will be read as roses are placed in their memory.
This years keynote speaker is retired Deputy Chief Walt Campbell of the Wichita Fire Department.
