NEWTON, Kansas -- The Harvey County Sheriff's Office releasing the names of those involved in a car-train collision on Saturday.
It happened at the railroad crossing at NE 48th and Highway 50.
According to deputies, a 2000 Dodge Intrepid was traveling west on NE 48th when it collided with a BNSF freight train that was traveling east.
The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Taylor Sowell, as killed.
Her 20-year-old husband, Dylan Sowell, suffered critical injuries and was flown to Wesley Medical Center.
The driver's 17-year-old brother, Kyle Malek, was transported by ambulance to Wesley Medical Center with head injuries.
