WICHITA, Kansas -- A Wichita man and woman got an unpleasant surprise early Tuesday morning as a suspect running from police tried to hide inside their home.
The incident began at 3:45 a.m. when police tried to stop a vehicle that may have been involved in a drug transaction at the intersection of Bluffview and Wilma.
The driver refused to stop and police chased him for almost two miles to the 600 block of South Spruce.
A man inside the car jumped out, found a home with an unlocked door and ran inside.
"Officers did pursue him in there, where they found him hiding inside," said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.
Officers arrested a 25-year-old man. They say he had several grams of meth on him, a scale and some cash.
The man and woman who live in the home were not hurt.
A 17-year-old girl who was in the pursued car was taken into custody for a curfew violation.
