WICHITA, Kansas -- Wichita police say a 42-year-old man who wallked into the QuikTrip at 13th and Oliver with multiple gunshots has died.
It happened Wednesday night shortly after 7 p.m.
Police say the man flagged down an off-duty officer working a part time job at the store.
He was transported to Wesley Medical Center where he died before midnight.
During the investigation, officers were able to track the shooting back to the 1700 block of Northeast Parkway where evidence was recovered at the scene.
"We ended up getting up further calls individuals in the 1700 block of Northeast Parkway that said shots were fired in the block. Officers went back to that block and were able to locate shell casings," said Lt. Todd Ojile, Wichita Police Department.
Police say there are no witnesses, but they are questioning several people.
The man is a Wichita resident, and he did have a criminal record according to police.
