OTTAWA COUNTY, Kansas -- A 19-year-old Sedgwick County inmate being housed in the Ottawa County Detention Facility was pronounced dead at the Ottawa County Medical Center after having an apparent seizure in the detention facility.
The man was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail last month, but due to population, he was transferred to Ottawa.
The KBI and Ottawa County Sheriff's office are investigating this death.
The KBI is responsible for investigating all inmate deaths that are not ruled a natural death.
