Police find gang member shot in south Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas -- Wichita police say they found a gang member shot in south Wichita.

It happened 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of East Tulsa.

According the Wichita police, the 22-year-old man stated he was on Tulsa when he was shot in the leg and his side.

A friend drove him to Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital. 

He was then transported to Via Christi St. Francis.

His injuries were not life threatening.

"What is unclear is exactly what happened and who was involved. We are interested in talking to anyone who might know or to have information proceeding the shooting," said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.

Police believe two suspects were involved, and they are still investigating.
