WICHITA, Kansas -- Wichita red kettle campaign donations improved dramatically in 2012 compared to the previous year, exceeding it by $100,000.
Total Wichita red kettle donations for 2012 were more than $1.7 million.
"Once again, Wichitans stepped up and showed their support for community members in need," said Glen Caddy, Major and Wichita City Commander with The Salvation Army. "We'd like to thank all who donated to The Salvation Army this past holiday season. Your donations truly make a difference."
The red kettle campaign is conducted each year as part of The Salvation Army's Mission of Hope holiday programs.
