WICHITA, Kansas -- For the third consecutive year, the Wichita State's men's basketball team will play a game at INTRUST Bank Arena.
The Shockers will face The University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles on Saturday, December 22.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, October 5 at 10 a.m. and range from $17 to $152.
This will be the first meeting between the two schools.
"We are thrilled to host the University of Southern Mississippi, defending Conference USA champions, and to again play at INTRUST Bank Arena.
This is consecutive years we have been able to bring Conference USA teams to Wichita following NCAA Tournament appearances," said Wichita State head coach, Gregg Marshall.
The Shockers have enjoyed success in their previous two appearances at INTRUST Bank Arena defeating both The University of Tulsa in 2010 and The University of Alabama-Birmingham last season.
Southern Miss is coached by first year head coach Donnie Tyndall. The Golden Eagles were 25-9 last season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. They return two starters and five lettermen from last year's team.
"I have a great deal of respect for Coach Marshall and the Wichita State program," Tyndall said. "We know that it is always a very challenging environment to play in, but we look forward to the opportunity to compete against a great team."
"We are proud to again partner with Russ Potts Productions and INTRUST Bank Arena to bring this NCAA caliber team to our community," added Eric Sexton, Wichita State Director of Athletics.
Tickets can be purchased at the INTRUST Bank Arena Box Office, online at www.selectaseat.com, by phone at (855) 755-SEAT and at all Select-A-Seat outlets.
