WICHITA, Kansas -- Wichita police are investigating two robberies Wednesday.
The first happened around 6:50 p.m. in the 1900 block of East 13th Street at the Dollar General Store.
Police say a black man, who is approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall, walked into the store armed with a handgun.
He had a ski mask on and a dark flannel shirt.
He left on foot with an unknown amount of money.
Then, approximately nine minutes later, police received a call of another robbery at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 13th and Oliver.
Police say a man pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money.
Police say since the robberies occurred in the same area they could be connected.
"There's a little bit of distance there. It's hard to say if these two would actually be related or if they're just coincidental, but it's something we haven't ruled out as of yet," said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.
The robbery at Walmart occurred about the same time as a shooting victim walked into a nearby QuikTrip.
Police say that case is not connected.
