WICHITA, Kansas -- A United flight from Denver had some snow trouble when it arrived in Wichita. Flight 5518 got stuck on the taxiway.

The flight was originally scheduled to land in Wichita at 3:19 p.m. Thursday, but it was delayed.

At 4:39, one of the passengers sent KSN a message that the flight landed but was stuck in the snow.

At 5:03, he said workers were trying to clear a path so that a bus could drive to the plane and pick up the passengers.

About 20 minutes later, he said it was too slick for the bus. Airport officials decided to wait for a tow.

Just before 6 p.m., the tow arrived and the plane started moving towards the terminal. The passengers were off the plane by 6:30.

WICHITA, Kansas --

Delays and cancellations were common at Midcontinent Airport starting yesterday.

A plane stuck in snow on the runway however, not such a common sight.

It was a delayed flight out of Denver that finally landed here in Wichita and got stuck in the snow.

Workers tried to clear a path so buses could drive out to the plane and bring passengers in.

However it was later decided it was too slick to bring in buses and airport officials decided to wait for a tow back to the terminal.

The entire incident left passengers on the tarmac for an extra couple of hours.

"The hostesses on board were giving out cookies and everybody was just joking and having a good time. I don't think anybody really got upset about it," says passenger Ken Crockett.

"Everybody was in really good spirits. We all chatted and had a good time. It got a little long but for the most part everyone stayed in good spirits," says Emelia Bond.

"By far the most entertaining delay I've ever had in my life. It's just been laughable to me," says Joshua Locke.

The passengers were finally off the plane by 6:30 Thursday evening.
