WICHITA, Kansas -- A water main break in Old Town closes part of a street and damages a hotel
The main broke near the Courtyard Marriott Hotel at Second and Mosley around 3 a.m. this morning.
The force of the water broke a window at the hotel and caused water to flood the basement.
"A gentleman sleeping in there came to the front desk and thought it was a hail storm at first, but it was rocks and water. All those rocks and water came pouring into room 103 and went right through his window and room and down to the lower level," said Lea Firestone, Courtyard Marriott Hotel.
The water flooded the basement, and it forced the hotel to shut down the electricity in the building.
Nearly 100 guests at the hotel were forced to find different hotels in the city.
