Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Cubs signed pitcher Kyuji Fujikawa to a two-year contract with a vesting/club option for the 2015 season.

The deal is reportedly worth $9.5 million.

Fujikawa went 42-25 with 220 saves and a 1.77 earned run average in 562 appearances, all but 14 as a relief pitcher, over 12 seasons with the Hanshin Tigers of Japan's Central League.

The 32-year-old Fujikawa is the second Japanese player in Cubs history, following Kosuke Fukudome.
