Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Marlins signed veteran infielder Chone Figgins to a minor league contract on Friday.

The deal includes an invitation to major league spring training camp.

Figgins, who turned 35 in January, was released by Seattle in November with one year and $8 million remaining on a four-year, $36 million contract he signed with the Mariners in December of 2009.

Last season, he hit just .181 with two home runs, 11 RBI and four stolen bases in 66 games.

Over 11 seasons with the Angels (2002-09) and Mariners, Figgins has hit .277 with 35 home runs, 402 RBI and 337 steals.
