New York, NY (Sports Network) - Superstars LeBron James of the Miami Heat and Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers have been named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Month, respectively, for December.

James, who won this award last month as well, ranked second in the conference in scoring at 27.5 points per game and fourth in field goal percentage (.555) while helping his team to an 10-5 record. He also recorded a triple-double in a loss to the Wizards on Dec. 4.

Paul's Clippers went undefeated (16-0) during the month, thanks in part to their point guard averaging 16.0 points and a conference-high 9.3 assists per game. Paul also led the league with 2.6 steals per outing and totaled seven double-doubles.

Other nominees for the awards were Atlanta's Al Horford and Josh Smith; Houston's James Harden, Golden State's David Lee, the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant, Memphis' Zach Randolph, New York's Carmelo Anthony, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge, and San Antonio's Tony Parker.
