City asking for improvements on bicycle plan

WICHITA, Kansas - The city of Wichita is asking the community to help plan improvements to make it easier, safer, and more convenient to get around Wichita on a bicycle.

The city is hosting an open house event to review the Wichita Bicycle Master Plan and recent implementation actions.

The open house event will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at City Hall, 455 N. Main, in the 1st Floor Board Room.

It will include opportunities for participants to:

  • Review the recommended bikeway network
  • Share priorities for future bicycle facilities (paths, bike lanes, bicycle boulevards, etc.)
  • Review accomplishments from 2013
  • Learn about activities underway for 2014 (bikeway designs, policies, and design guidance)
